Election: Henry Legaye UUCP President

Congratulations to Rev. Henry Legaye elected new President of the UU Church of the Philippines.  He has served the last year as acting president.  He replaces Rev. Rebecca Quimada Sienes who is serving as chair of the planning and finance committee.  I am here in Dumaguette Negros Philippines for the 50th Anniversary Celebrations.  Tonight 2 young adult women seminarians are being ordained, Susan Quisel and Elvie Sienes.  We made a pilgrimage this morning at 4am up to Nataban, about 4 hours away, to pay respects to the birthplace of Rev. Toribo Quimada founder of the UU Church of the Philippines.  Tommorow we will visit Nagbinlod where he was murdered in the late 1980's by paramilitary forces.
